I'm having a footwear existential crisis. I often wear big kind of work/walking boots in the winter. It makes me look hard and I'm happy with that.

I need another shoe option though. My other shoe looks are plain canvas type things or sometimes for work if I need to look smart I have some brogues. Not particularly happy with either of these.

I'd like a shoe that does both jobs - lightweight and not too hot but smart enough to get away with (I hardly ever need to look properly smart and I've always got the brogues to fall back on). I really need some smart looking leather trainers I guess. The only ones you can get now either have a massive fuck off white sole stuck on the bottom which looks a bit non-smart, or they're those ones shaped a bit like football boots that cost £85 for some reason. I swear you used to be able to get nice smart-casual brown leather trainers all over the shop(s) back in the 00s.
