Something that stuck in my craw watching Question Time last week (Journalism)
At one point the Labour guy chastised the Sun, Telegraph and the Daily Mail for spreading mistruths about the EU and immigration to create a climate of fear that suited their political outlook and the private interests of their owners.
The UKIP man replied that the paper was just reflecting the views of its readership and this got a big clap (think it was in Essex).
Which way round do you think it is then - paper influencing public or vice versa? And can a paper that does this really be permitted a platform as genuine news, or is it all skewed into mere opinion?
