had a beautiful jazz interaction the other night
the set up: was taking my mum to the hospital, but as she has mobility issues and it was pissing down, so I decided I'd park the car RIGHT OUTSIDE her house. big mistake, man. got stuck on a patch of grass and we had to get a cab there and back. jazz lesson #1
anyway, we got back quite late and I couldn't be assed to try and move the car, so decided I'd leave it there and deal with it the next day.
got a cab back to my gaff. was chatting with the driver about this and that and he was telling me he was a student and just taxi(ed) in his spare time.
asked him what he was studying - sports therapy. drilled down a bit further and he was looking to get into physio after he had graduated. asked him why he was looking to go down that road specifically. turns out he was involved in a car accident as a pup and had a very inspirational physio who had nursed him back physically, but more importantly, mentally.
upon further (gentle) pressing, it turned out he was the only one who survived the accident. fucking blew my mind.
this really got me thinking - fucking hell, man. we (me, maybe you) spend a lot of time bitching about shit that DOESN'T REALLY MATTER. this kid has gone through something pretty damn horrific, dusted himself down (after mental massaging) and BOOM! he's going to put something back, rather than just curling up in a ball and feeling sorry for himself. jazz lesson#2
what's my point? probably don't have one, but suffice to say, this guys story has given me a 17% boost. I'm going to be a lot more wary of moaning like a cunt from here on in. there are people out there in a much worse situation.
bye!
