Hello Fresh / Gousto
Those services that send you everything you need to make certain recipes.
Tried it out this week because we got a discount thing. Got to pick three recipes, and they sent us a box of stuff on Sunday evening. Made lovely pork tacos on Monday and a nice aubergine pasta last night. Some sort of stuffed chicken breast this evening.
Pros: Took me out of my comfort zone, got me cooking something new. Good quality ingredients. Portions weren't stingy like I thought they'd be. And it's good that it provides you with everything - all the herbs and extra bits I probably usually wouldn't bother with.
Cons: Pretty expensive. Even with the discount, probably more than I'd spend on a usual evening meal (though probably what you'd have to spend on those ingredients in the shop). Sometimes I can't be arsed to come home and spend the best part of an hour cooking. Feels like annoying middle class commodify your life bullshit.
