Window woes
A couple of months ago I had my window open, a gust of window blew it back and destroyed the plastic slider in the hinge. Landlord finally got it fixed on Thursday but then exactly the same thing happened on Saturday (wasn't even particularly windy at that point). Feel a bit stupid going back to my landlord again so soon, might just offer to pay myself for the sake of good relations especially as my tenancy agreement is near the end and she could decided to kick us out.
But, do you think a window should be able to withstand it being windy? The old window lasted a lot longer so it could be the repairer used a cheap part, in which case I'd resent paying for it. Also it has happened twice so might just happen again, might just be a fundamentally badly designed window fitting, when fixed I'd fear having it open, but I need to have it open as I'm always too hot and the time it was broken coincided with mould appearing around the window so I need to be able to air the room to prevent that.
How would you approach a landlord in this situation?
