My dad is profoundly racist. He'll recite 'Eeny, meeny, miny, moe...' in the way that Clarkson got told off for. He will openly comment on muslims, black people, people from the Asian subcontinent that he sees on the news or wherever. He said 'it had to be a black, didn't it?' after seeing someone larking about behind a reporter on a live news feed from Oxford St. on Boxing Day.

His behaviour is worsening as he ages (currently 51).

This upsets me.

He is so assured in his views. There is no ounce of empathy or sympathy in anything he does or thinks. Unfortunately, his stint in the military removed his entire conscience. We argued about the morals of tax the time before last. It punctuates every single one of his rationales.

So, the question is, what may I do about this? I don't necessarily want to change him, just alert him to his prejudices in a way that makes him think.
