NFL Week 17 Thread
That went quickly didn't it? Very little to play for in week 17, save for Rex Ryan standing between the Jets and the play-offs (*insert "what else is new?" joke here*) and the Packers trying to pick themselves up after last week's kicking in Phoenix. Also some unlikely play-off permutations arising if the Chargers beat the Broncos and some confusing mess involving which AFC South team wins the opportunity to be manhandled by (probably) the Chiefs in next week.
What we do know is that tomorrow is Black Monday, where the majority of the year's head coach and GM firing gets done in one fell swoop. Dolphins GM Dennis Hickey and Eagles Coach/GM/Athletic Trainer/Horse Whisperer/any other job he's assigned himself Chip Kelly have already been given their marching orders for signing and then pissing off Ndamukong Suh and DeMarco Murray respectively. Would expect Mike McCoy, Chuck Pagano and Tom Coughlin to be the other head coaches to go. Have seen reports that suggest Mike Pettine and Ray Farmer will be both fired in Cleveland, or one or the other will, or neither will, but that's Cleveland for you. A mercy firing for Jim Tomsula would be nice as well, but unless they find someone else who can say "ooh, good idea boss" quite as convincingly you'd imagine he'd be safe. Gus Bradley, Rex Ryan and Jeff Fisher(really?) have all been confirmed as returning next year.
