This morning I told colleagues that I'd left my phone in the car and was nipping out to fetch it. I actually just couldn't remember if I'd put the parking brake on (yes), turned the lights off (yes) or locked it (yes) and didn't want them to think I'm a neurotic mess.

Then I ran into another colleague in the car park and had to pretend to rummage for my phone in my car to maintain the deception.

I'm starting to see how that those people who live double lives could accidentally end up in that situation. It just snowballs.
