Shitty Christmas movie audit 2015
Log your abysmal Christmas viewing here!
So far I have sat through:
Santa's Summer House http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2350954/
A bunch of long-forgotten straight to VHS 80s/90s action stars like Gary Daniels and Undefeatable's Cynthia Rothrock decamp to a big house with terrible acoustics for a summer vacation with a middle aged man in a Hawaiian shirt who looks absolutely nothing like Santa Claus. Nothing even remotely Christmassy happens even though every scene begins and ends with a clip art image of a snowman or some shit wiping across the screen. The run time is padded out massively with recycled establishing shots that last 20 or 30 seconds and the closest it comes to action is a spirited game of croquet shot with an insane lack of editing. The score is just a generic instrumental Christmas music CD set to shuffle. Songs will start and end mid-scene with no correlation to onscreen action. From the director of "A Talking Cat!?!", "A Talking Pony!?!" and "My Stepbrother is a Vampire!?!", this may well be the worst film ever made.
Dear Santa http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1893218/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_17
Lovely Amy Acker stars in a stinker directed by Jason Priestley as a spoiled 30 year old who learns the true meaning of Christmas by stalking a man with a snow plough and his young daughter and insidiously gatecrashing their lives. Features a homeless shelter in need of financial assistance and copious ice skating.
Santa With Muscles http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0117550/?ref_=nv_sr_1
Hulk Hogan, a guy from That 70s Show, Ed Begley Jr and a very young Mila Kunis star in an inexplicable film with evil scientists, slave orphans and violent robot Santas. It is far less fun than it sounds.
Deck The Halls http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0790604/?ref_=nv_sr_1
Big budget bollocks with Danny DeVito as a man who wants to put up lots of lights and Matthew Broderick as a man who doesn't want him to put up so many lights. Then they get in to a HOLIDAY GRUDGE MATCH! for some reason, during which Broderick falls face first in some shit and ogles his own teenage daughter. Features Fred Armisen doing one of those 'funny foreigners' he does.
