NFL Week 9
Bengals comfortably beat out Browns last night. Thought the Browns looked OK tbh, the taunting penalty on the Browns after the big tackle for loss on the Bengals RB seemed to signal the point at which the Browns didn't really have any chance - IIRC, first play of the drive, massive play for a big loss.. and then done for taunting, 15 yard penalty, auto first down which resulted in a TD - got to be pretty morale sapping. Two or three stupid penalties by Cleveland, another that springs to mind is when they got the goal-line stop on AJ Green, and got called back for Offside on the other side of the line.
Thought Manziel looked promising though, mainly first half. Bit frenetic, but seems to make it work, and some decent throws. Could do with figuring out how to dump off or throw away though, had his RB 10 yards away and miles open a couple of times on sacks/throw aways. Haven't seen much of Bortles and Carr's a lot better atm, but I think I'd rate Manziel a bit above Bridgewater right now. Very different QBs, but I think I'd rather have someone who can make the throws and move an offense, rather than a game manager who can't throw accurately beyond 15 yards. Would be very interesting to see them in the other's situation.
Week 9 games - I fear for Andrew Luck's well being as Colts go up against Denver, the Raiders get to see where they are against a Pittsburgh team with Big Ben back, and Miami play Buffalo where the loser is probably out of any playoff hope. Does a week go by without a big game in the NFC East? Seems to be at least two of them playing each other, and with it being so tight, they all matter, and they're all hard to call.
