I'm currently watching Blake's 7 which was a hazy memory as a kid but works well with the characters and every episode treads a route that is entertaining if not hammy and daft. This made me think. Why has there never been a full on Game Of Thrones style Sci-Fi modern series. One can see why nerds love the characters in such programs, conventions, paraphernalia, etc - they'd practically wet themselves if there was a Sci-Fi series with full on blood, gore, sex and violence like in Game of Thrones. Why has this not been realised by HBO, etc?
