Thread for the GoT books
ITT: A Song of Ice and Fire!
ONE RULE: If you are going to spoil anything massive (such as stuff that hasn't already been revealed in the show), please just make it clear in the subject line which book you will be talking about in your post, ok? Let's just assume that literally everyone with an interest in this thread knows everything that happens in the show, though.
I'm currently just over 200 pages into A Clash of Kings (book 2) for the first time. Towards the end of the first book I was just too annoyed with Ned for telling Cersei all about his plans, as if she would give a shit about the honourable thing to do or anything. It was more shocking in the show, but reading the book I was more just like, Ned you complete dick.
Also now on book 2 reading about Theon I'm torn between being really annoyed with him for also being a dick and a crybaby, and feeling really, really awful for him because I know what's coming :( Really not looking forward to reading all of that stuff.
Also I'm pretty excited to see who will become new point-of-view characters as (more of) the original ones die. Trying to guess based on who's big in the show, which is fun.
Also also (spoiler if you like, haven't been on Buzzfeed for six months): I *totally* believe the R+L=J theory. It *must* be true, there are just so many things and ever so subtle little hints.
