i quite want a new guitar ti upgrade my epiphone les paul that i got when i was 16

what shall i get?

i would like something that is easy to play really, not too bothered about 'tone' really as i'll probably destroy all that with effects and whatever, i like what telecasters look like, it'll be just for messing about, i'm not specifically lead or rythem

i don't know anything about guitars and i can't really play very well - what shall i get?
