I've just been wondering about the legal/philosophical implications of this tragedy.

If the man blacked out at the wheel, is it justice to send him down? Apparantly he had a history of blacking out though so should he have been behind the wheel at all - and then does responsibility fall to the council or the man himself for putting others at risk?

I don't see how he needs to be rehabilitated, does he deserve prison in your opinion?
