Anyone seen Mistress America yet? It's the new film with Greta Gerwig with Noah Baumbach directing. Inevitably, there's huge similarity between this and Frances Ha. I thought it was good fun. For the first two thirds of the film I didn't really care much for any of the characters but did hugely at the end and thought it was overall an excellent film.

I saw it yesterday at The ICA with a curator by the name of Jemma Desai giving the introduction. She's seems to put on some great films. She put on a terrific film called Girlfriends at The BFI a few years ago, a late 70s film set in New York and could be described as a precursor to Girls and Frances Ha. If anyone hadn't seen Girlfriends do try and check it out.

Anyone recommend any other similar films that aren't well known?
