because soon my tv is going to be too far away from pc to directly connect with a cable, which is what i use now to watch netflix, iplayer, legally downloaded movies and tv etc.

is a chromecast what i need? is there a better one? not arsed with raspberry pi / xbmc any of that, want it to work out of the box.
