So a few weeks ago my new lady and I decided to book a wee weekend break away up north to a lovely wee hotel in an Abbey for some nice food, walking and sexy times. It's happening this weekend. Very excited, yada yada.

Anyway, I've stupidly realised that this weekend will see the end of the worst football season in living memory, with the Champions League final between Barcelona and Juventus on Saturday night. It might actually be a good match, so given the dearth of fun football times this season, I'd quite like to watch it.

How do I achieve watching this (or even approach mentioning the possibility of it), while also not ruining said weekend for ladyfriend and myself? Has anyone ever been in a similar situation and worked it all out? Or failed miserably? Let me know.
