not necessarily not putting their hands in their pockets, but maybe keeping some sort of pathetic running total of spending and bringing it up all the time

got this friend I hang out with from time to time who is exactly like this.

eg...a couple times recently, I've been over to his gaff and during the evening, asked for a solitary beer. there is no problem at the time, then bam! out of the blue he'll be like "don't forget you owe me for those two beers"

another eg...he was coming over to my place the other week and I asked him to pick up some baccy on the way through. he did, but we got pissed and stoned, so I forgot to pay him that night. I texted him the next day to acknowledge this, as I knew that his mental calculator would be going into overdrive. spoke to him a couple days later and the first thing he said was "don't forget you owe me £4.45"

fucking hell! this level of financial totting up is pathetic. I've discussed this with him and suggested generally what goes around comes around, but I don't think its sinking in.

fuck me, the amount of meals I've laid on over the years. sure if I was to do some mental arithmetic, he'd probably end up owing me. fortunately, I ain't that guy.
