Are you trying to work stuff out (consciously or otherwise) while you’re watching a drama or do you just let it unfold?

An ex of mine was forever knowing how things would end by midway through a story, not because she was actively trying to do so but just because she couldn’t help picking up on the all cues/clues.

Obviously some writing is clumsy and obvious (just look at Balonz) but in the main I’m not trying to identify the killer or guessing what will happen next. I’d rather be surprised than satisfied (a bit like my sexual partners).
