flippant title aside, can we use this thread to name politicians we perceive as generally being a force for the good?

i propose it follows the format of a this^ thread: name a politician who as far as you know is decent, below that people can post links supporting or discrediting suggestions. if you agree with a suggestion, this^ it. if not, explain so that those of us who are not so well versed can learn and develop our opinions.

this thread is posted with sincerity and an actual desire to become informed about the MPs who supposedly represent us, so #SSP please. this is maybe naive on my part, but lets keep trolling to a minimum and try and remain as objective as possible. please no snarky one-liners that contribute nothing positive and only serve to derail and inflame.

there's so much misinformation out there, if we can fashion a thread that actually informs and shares important things about these public figures then i believe that would be a great resource. there aren't enough hours in the day for any individual to investigate everything with proper due diligence, lets try and help each other with this.
