I feat that my standards of speech (not vocabulary) have really dropped off recently. It's like I'm always playing this game where I have to try and make myself audible but with the least amount of effort possible. I think part of the reason is hating the feeling that my conversation is being listened to by strangers who are nearby, and partly because I'm just lazy and find talking a chore most times. It's difficult enough thinking up stuff to say let alone find the effort to say it in a clear and audible way.
