As a foreigner, it has only recently been brought to my attention that how you prefer to have your chips is likely a result of where in the UK you're from (or have lived a significant amount of time, I guess).

I like mine with melted cheese and, if I'm feeling absolutely crazy, baked beans as well. Probably picked up this from my time in Cardiff. (The number of times I have to specify that I want the cheese *melted* though! Ych y fi.)
