I'm tired of having those drape over pannier things with a bag each side. I'm always worried someone's going to nick the stuff in them (even in sleepy Norwich) and they're a pain to take off.

I fancy something that you can detach easily and carry around like a backpack.

Tempted by Ortliebs but wondered if anyone recommends anything cheaper that has done the job and lasted. Lots of cheaper brands have dodgy reviews about the clips breaking.
