Panic over. I get paid a grand bursary in 2 days which will bring me back into overdraft (as I've got an outstanding rent payment, which scared the shit out of me at first), then uni money 10 days later. So I'll be kinda broke for a short time. But fuck, I've been spending too much money this month, mostly on alcohol. Feeling shit about it now tho.

Luckily I'm on a max grant + bursary and it's pretty generous, but I'm only paid it termly and my accommodation is pricey. If my calculations are correct, my spending budget is around £350-£400 a month (maybe less), which is like £75-£100 a week. Is this enough to live on and have fun at the same time?

I'm on HSBC which probably doesn't provide the best student overdraft (up to £1000 per academic year). Does anyone know if there are any other banks which provide better overdrafts? Also I'd like to hear any financial hardships you had at uni.
