Easy to mock but great fun to watch and can be as nerve racking and tense as any sport.

I'm going tomorrow evening to see amongst others Simon Whitlock and the ladies' choice Steve "The Bronzed Adonis" Beaton. Those evenings are always rowdy, messy but great fun.

Obviously, Taylor and Van Gerwen are joint favourites. Adrian Lewis at around 10/1 might be a good bet currently if he doesn't lose his concentration too often. As long as James Wade doesn't win I'll be happy.

There will only be one Sid Waddell. So much more than a commentator; televised darts won't be the same again but it remains one of the most watchable sports.
