Indian visa reassurance thread #ssp
Has anyone else been on holiday to India recently and gone through the somewhat torturous visa process? I'm going at the end of January, so still have a bit of time, but basically last night I went online to fill out the form. I made two stupid errors by missing two boxes, my address when I'd be there and where I'm leaving from. Now, the next step is to print off the form, sign it and add your picture, then you either send it off or take it into the office. Given that, is the online form entirely just for the purpose of printing it off - so I can add in those sections by hand when I take it in? Or will it invalidate the thing, they'll cross check it against the online one and cancel it?
Adding to matters is that I've got to apply for a journalist visa, even though I'm not travelling for work. I think all I need is a letter from my boss confirming I'm not travelling for work, but I'm worried that is slows down the process - the website is frustratingly unclear about whether it takes 10 weeks (!) for a journalist visa or if I want to film a documentary there (I do not). If it does take 10 weeks, I'm fucked anyway, but I think it's for documentary access... I guess people are less likely to have experience of that though....
If you just want to tell me I'm idiot for making a mistake, be assured I already know that. I just want you to tell me it will be alright. Remember, #ssp
