Last night I had the idea of making a human shape out of snow. I couldn't sleep I was so excited and I did dozens of preliminary sketches of my creation.

But, typically, it seems I'm too late with this idea. Even more embarrassingly it seems that there's records dating back to 1380, illustrations in the medieval Book of Hours.

So, not to be outdone, I thought I'd build the world's biggest snowman. But now that I've seen that the record is 122 feet tall I think it might be beyond my capabilities.

I'm pretty disenchanted with snowmen right now.
