Can you suggest a (very central) pub that isn't absolutely soul destroying which can also meet the following criteria:

1) Suitable for a meagre, 1 1/2 hour 'office christmas drinks' affair
2) Within half a mile of St Mary's Church
3) Likely to be able to find seating for 15 or so people at 4:30pm on a Thursday.
