You know the one. She works in a building near me and her Mum works on campus too, in another office. I imagine she's in her early thirties, Mum late 50s.

Every day they walk to and from work, she's often a pace or two ahead of her Mum. Both look miserable and are never speaking.

They just walked past my building, usual formation, both looking like there's not an ounce of joy in the world and in total silence.
