i happily emasculated myself yesterday by paying a guy £20 to build a flatpack chest of drawers for me

i appear to have a complete mental block when it comes to flatpack stuff, i approach it in an organised way, lay everything out, follow the (normally deliberately obtuse) instructions but still end up making an arse of it

last time i did it properly i ended up hammering the dowels in flush and had to get my dad (who's a joiner and is deeply ashamed of me) to circumvent the ikea building mechanisms just to get the fucking thing built

i've come to the conclusion that this stuff is the work of the devil, is anyone else just utterly useless at this stuff?
