and why would you want to anyway?

of all types of formal footwear for men i prefer the slip-on shoe, providing it doesn't verge into loafer territory. boat shoes are an absolute no no. chukka boots scream out riff raff. brogues mean you're trying a bit too hard, and obviously it's hard to really wear desert boots without looking like a weekend racist.

i wouldn't be so against the standard formal shoe if they didn't all have pointy toes now. not sure when that started, but it's not a good look and can't be comfortable.
