NFL Week 9 Thread: I WISH I KNEW HOW TO QUIT YOU edition
My first time giving this thread a crack so expect none of the usual insightful analysis or even useful timings, just think of it as a handy placeholder for KiK to come and post something snarky a few beers into his afternoon.
GAME OF THE WEEK:
Broncos @ Patriots
It's the love that dares not speak its name, as thumb-face Peyton Manning and his marching Orangemen tango their way into Foxborough to take on pretty-boy Brady and his tame Gronk. Over the first half of the season the Broncos have laid out their stall as the team to beat on the road to the Super Bowl, but who can bet against Touchdown Tom at home with a few good wins under his belt? Brady is ten-five up in encounters with Pey-once, and I like his chances of extending that lead tonight, before the Broncos tramp on to January football. PATS by 3.
Early Games:
Cardinals @ Cowboys
This year's big surprise package takes on this year's other surprise package, with Tony Oh-no likely to sit this one out. If Old Man Weedon spends his time yelling at clouds, it could mean a big day for giving the ball to DeMarco Murray and letting him do his thing, which is probably for the best anyway. After a loss to the DC Area football team, the Boys are looking to right the ship, and they might just do it. DAL by 3
Chargers @ Dolphins
You've got to like what the Bolts are doing, whereas Miami have been as inconsistent as British weather. Though they're at home and coming off back to back wins, Tannehill and co. will face a tougher proposition from Big Phil Rivers and a defence looking avoid losing three on the bounce. SND by 7
Others: Bucs @ Browns, Eagles @ Texans, Jets @ Chiefs, Jags @ Bengals, DC Racists @ Vikings
Late Games
Ravens @ Steelers
Who are the Steelers? From what realm do they hail? Are they all conquering, heroically QB'd champions, or international softmen (TM)? I don't know, but this might be the place to find out, depending on which Joe Flacco turns up. The Steelers are weapons heavy when they're in the mood, but can their defence hold true if Joe is on form? Either way, it should be GOOD, GRITTY FUN. BAL by 3
Other lates: Rams @ 49ers, Raiders @ Seahawks
Monday: Colts @ Giants
