In London, do you potentially have to live in a houseshare forever?
..if you never have a partner and work a below average wage job/will never be able to buy, for example? I've never known anyone in London who's lived alone, and looking for a place over the last few weeks on Spareroom etc, there seems to be a lot of people in their 40s still living in houseshares. With people I've known (of varying ages), it seems to go that they live in a houseshare until they find a partner, then if they split up with that partner it's back into a houseshare etc, even if they're pushing 40. Or is it about choice/how you spend your money, and most people prefer to save money by living in a houseshare, rather than it being an absolute necessity?
I just find it quite a scary thought that I might never get to live entirely alone.
