This morning my manager straight up asked me if I want to do my job in the long term. I obviously don't because it's making me unwell, but I didn't feel like I could say that to him at the time so I just said something about maybe for the next 2 years or so but definitely not 5 years+ like loads of people in the department.

Now I'm thinking about sending him an honest email saying that I'm not actively looking for other work, but is think it would be good for me to maybe go off on a secondment or 2 then see how I feel after that. Is that a good idea? It's not a good idea, is it. I'm applying for a secondment now so I feel like I should tell him if I get an interview.

Can someone tell me to mtfu or something please?
