Have you ever been to a non-work related convention?

I went to Games Day (Games Workshop) once when I was about 14, primarily so my friend Tony could enter the painting contest (I want to say the Golden Dragon?).

He didn't get very far, but I did get to play a Gorkamorka PC game that never got released. I did not wear a costume.
