Toshiba satellite laptop, Ive cleared the fan and applied thermal paste to cpu and graphics chip but now turns itself off after 10-20 seconds

any advice? Im not an expert, but Im pretty certain I havnt touched things badly......the fan starts up but then when it starts to accellerate it then cuts out and the laptop switches off.
