Car scrape question
I caught a lady in the work carpark last night banging into my car and then trying to drive off. Luckily I saw her and stood infront of her car so she couldn't escape and gave her the old point at my eyes and point at the car so she knew she'd been rumbled. She got out and was all 'ooh, oh is that your car, I didn't realise
There's not MUCH damage to the car but she has scraped it down to the bodywork underneath on the back wheel arch. She was suitably mortified and embarrassed about having done it so I didn't chastise her for the trying to drive off thing at the time, but its really pissed me off thinking about it.
Her car's a lot worse off than mine so she's been somewhat punished, but I'm not sure what to do about mine. I could
A) Get some filler, primer and paint and do a hash job of painting it myself and then bill her with some extra thrown in for the trouble
B) Go to a bodyshop and no doubt get the whole metal plate replaced or fixed and resprayed properly. Judging from a previous scrape this would probably cost her about £200-300 minimum.
or C) Let it slide and hope that it doesn't rust over and ruin the whole back end of the car
What should I do? I'm leaning heavily towards option B, mostly because she tried to drive off (and it was really obvious that she'd done it, theres no way she could've missed it). If she'd have left a note or got out and waited for me then option C would have probably sufficed.
Incidentally its an 8 year old megane worth about £3K, certainly not some prestige car that needs buffing every weekend
