Citizens advice bureau – got to no.13 in queue….

So, my fascinating question –
am starting a new job but keeping on my old job for one shift a week but I want my new job to be my main jobbie and my old job to be my second jobbie. I won’t get a P45 cos technically not leaving my old job. Job at new HR said P46….but isn’t that EMERGENCY TAX territory? Think they should be offering me a starter checklist but don’t want to call them back yet and tell them I think I know their job better than them…….and this doesn’t seem to solve the make new job first job and not second job problem.
