can of worms thread, probably (sorry guys)
so, I've only just come across this video for Arcade Fire's 'We Exist' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRXc_-c_9Xc
Summary: it stars Andrew Garfield as either a transvestite or transgendered individual (the video doesn't make that fully clear). He shaves his head, has some trouble choosing an outfit to wear but ends up putting on a bra, shirt and hot pants then heads out to a bar where he ends up getting beaten up. The video then swaps to him doing a choreographed dance at the bar and in the end he gets on stage with Arcade Fire and dances in front of a large crowd.
So, some reactions have been positive and uplifting, others have been (predictably) hate-filled and negative and some, from a few other individuals, have expressed upset that the Arcade Fire's video didn't star a genuine transgendered person in the video and instead starred a straight, male actor.
Thoughts?
