Have made this a regular part of my morning work routine. The water machine is situated next to a coffee machine and a snack vending machine. If nobody’s around, I have a sneaky push of the coin reject button; see if any of those mothers pay out.

After three weeks of tickling these machines once per morning my gains are £4.60. That’s roughly £80 a year if I keep on with this.

Haven’t spent the money yet, may just put it in the charity box. I do it for the rush when I hear the coins drop rather than for the money itself you see.

Or I’ll keep doing it until I’m 80 and then get my photo in the local rag after I've accumulated four grand.

Coffee machine pays out the most. Figure that most people are unfocused when they need the coffee so they forget to collect their change.
