Ach. There can't be many people in the UK who haven't grown up with Adrian Mole, and there probably won't be anyone on DiS who hasn't seen a little (or a lot) of themselves in his character. Funny, warm, scathing and biting where necessary, she created characters with depth that we could laugh at, root for and trust.
