A serious thread about reading books
When you read a book, does the internal 'voice' sound like:
A) you
B) a generic, pleasing narrator voice, as if you're having the book read to you by a kindly teacher
C) you have cast all of the characters to have their own voice and any narration has an appropriate timbre
I do C and apparently this is uncommon. A non-scientific study of 5 people in a pub shows a general tendency towards A. Except one person who thinks all books sound like they're being read by Stephen Fry (so, B, sort of), because of the Harry Potter audio books or something.
