Do you spend loads of time with them, trying to make them feel better and speeding up their recovery?

Or do you give them a wide berth, offering moral support on the phone and dropping off stuff they need, but avoiding contact so as not to catch it.

I'm in this situation at the moment. He seems to want me to come and spend time with him. I'd rather not, really. AIBU?
