Listening to the old xfm Adam & Joe podcasts and the topic of 'Animals you accidentally trod on' got me wondering.

I'm not sure I ever have, though we've taken a few pets to be put down.

Also, is death preferable to a bad injury for a wild animal? How bad does it have to be?
