Balsamic vinegar
Can't say I'm impressed. Had a couple of boxes of Micro Chips for my tea, and forgot that I'd ran out of normal value vinegar. Can't really have chips without vinegar, so it was a toss-up between splashing a bit of juice out of a jar of pickled gherkins or using balsamic vinegar.
Went for the balsamic, ended up with limp, tasteless brown chips. I've used it in recipes before and I don't think it's ever added anything taste-wise then, either. Bland.
