Moral Dilemma Question
On the subject of breaking other peoples' stuff...
You're in a car park and you accidentally damage the only other car in there. Do you leave a note or do a runner? What are your considerations or is black and white?
A dent caused by your door opening on it?
The car is pretty old and it already has other gouges?
I wouldn't make someone else pay if they did that to my car, why would I give someone the opportunity to be more of a bastard than me?
A few years ago the wind pulled my door from my hand and make a mark on the 10 year old fiesta next to me in the car park. The lady in the car reacted surprisingly angrily and after convincing her that I'd pay direct rather than involve insurance she had the door replaced and the garage guy who I paid was surprised she'd bothered.
I would never do that and have let someone off in the past since my car is shit and it's not going to affect my ability to sell it. I'm still bitter about it. It didn't help that she was a twat. If she hadn't been there, I wouldn't have left a note. Is that 100% wrong?
Is your honesty affected by the level of damage?
