I'm sure plenty of you will have experienced this - what do you do about arsey neighbours? We moved into a flat at the end of December and the chap who lives below us has been leaving us passive aggressive notes about not slamming doors so loudly. We had some friends round last night, without too much noise but until 3am, and he now says this is "the last straw" and is threatening to get us evicted. His note this morning says he has "had the last 2 tenants evicted and would have no trouble making it a hattrick". He cites our New Years Eve party - which we told him about in advance and gave him a bottle of wine to sweeten him up for - as further evidence of us being anti-social, but also says that we have the TV and washing machine on too loudly.

What shall we do? We're both teachers so are in bed by 10 on weeknights, and don't often have people over at weekends. Not sure how to resolve this.
