Gideon has said that an above-inflation minimum wage rise is a good idea:

I think that's a really good thing, because the minimum wage is too low. But it does seem a bit strange that we can afford a minimum wage rise, whilst at the same time we are so broke that we have to make £12bn worth of welfare cuts and £25bn worth of cuts after the next election.
