How can you tell if a lightbulb is bayonet or screw?
Yes dis, I am trying to change a lightbulb. I'd like to say it's my first, but I just broke me lightbulb virginity by unscrewing the outside light that had also blown. It was easy, screwed it off, came off in my hand in a manner of seconds (ooh pardon). The ceiling light is problematic. I can reach the bulb and mostly see what im doing by torchlight, but when I unscrew it nothing happens. So, I googled bayonet and I have to push firmly but gently (what?) and then twist anticlockwise until it 'gives', apparently. Tried that, got an eyeful of stoor for my troubles and it won't budge. Now I have a sore stomach from the stress of it all.
Also, i have if course waited until all but one of my lights have blown before tackling this. The other lights are behind weird casings that need a screwdriver to get to. Not a fucking chance since I have one screwdriver and it's the wrong sort.
I'm best just going on gum tree and getting a handyman in, yes?
