I couldn’t find any of the other 1999 threads so thought I’d start a new one.

[For the purposes of this thread you might need to pretend that the word ear buds isn’t annoying]

This morning I uploaded my new album onto my iPod and it wasn’t until I got to the underground station that I realised I’d lost one of the ear buds from my headphones. Wracking my brains for a solution, I remembered that there was a stall in Victoria Station where the guys sell exclusively iPhone covers and headphones – and thought that they may have some spare ear buds for sale.

During lunch break I headed over to the stall, got my headphones out, pointed at the missing ear bud and asked one of the guys running it if they sold spares. The guy then said that they didn’t sell spares but I could buy a pair of the cheaper headphones and use the buds from them – they were £7. I thought about it but then decided that I wasn’t that desperate to listen to my new album, thanked him and went to walk off but as I did he said immediately “Okay, five pound”, so I bought them.

Are you any good at haggling?
